OnePress Social Locker: This is the most famous plugin for difference with more than 10,000 active installations. It has a fairly limited free version and a paid version that costs $ 21.
With the free version we can create Social Locker, as many as we want, give us the possibility to choose a title, the item to block using the WordPress editor, a code or shortcode that we simply have to paste it where we want to put the block, it can be on a page, in a post, etc.
They give you a choice between 2 templates for locks, and only users can pay with a social action through facebook or twitter, if you want to give users 5 more social networks to choose to pay with a social action or if you want to choose among 5 templates and not 2, you will have to buy the pro version of Onepress social locker.
In addition to the shortcodes we will also have the option to create a blockade and automatically put it in the footer of each entry or in other sites.
Another very important feature that has this plugin and lack many others is the ability to show us statistics and see the number of visits or impresions that each locker has had and how many times it has been unlocked, this is very useful because in this way we can change the lockers, the content inside, the title and the message that encourages users to unlock it, until obtaining the best results, that is, the best ratio visits / unlocking, thus improving our diffusion in social networks much more.
In general this plugin is easy to use and it is useful from the free version, although it is true that the pro version is much more complete.
Social Locker & Content Locker – Locker Cat:
This plugin is tremendously easy to use, it is just great in this sense, once installed, we will see it on the sidebard of our wordpress desktop, click on it and we will see the following:
And that’s it, as you can see in the previous screenshot, we chose a title and do not let you put a text that will be of the type “unlock this fantastic book with a social action” or whatever you want to put, we activate share by facebook and / or twitter and ready, below is the shortcode that we paste where we want.
Also this plugin has no paid version, it is not layered as it is with most social lockers. Locker cat is free. The downside however is the few options that we found, other social lockers support more social networks, different templates to choose from, several different options for each social network, for example, not only pay for tweets but for a follow, which does not support Cat locker But hey, although I do not have many options for me it is one of the best, being free and easy to use.
Content Locker: this plugin is quite used also, it is an almost exact copy of the first plugin of this article, Onepress Social Locker, but with some differences.
Content Locker has free version available to pro version unlocking and other features, the pro version costs $ 57.
Content Locker is more structured in terms of templates with respect to Onepress, but it has a free version that allows us to use social networks twitter, facebook and google +, when Onepress only allows us in the free version to use the first 2 social networks.
The best thing about Content Locker is without a doubt that it allows us to pay with social actions for different unlocking for each of the social networks, for example, like, share, tweet, follow, etc. The paid version of Content Locker has fewer social networks than Onepress.
Then it has a series of extra options such as making the blocker not appear if the visitor accesses from a mobile device, making the blocker re-block for the same IP if a time has passed, etc.
Like Onepress, Content Locker has statistics that will help us optimize its use.
If I had to choose between Content Locker and Onepress I would keep the second, especially if we compare the paid version of both. But in the end it is quite relative because it depends on your needs and what you want to do.
ArSocial: This plugin has many features related to social networks, in fact being a social locker is just one of those characteristics. The features it has are replaceable by other plugins that make it better and your option of social locker is very capacious as well as not working with shortcodes but you have to use it by default in entries or pages.
I only recommend its use for those who have not served the rest of the plugins, since this is worse, the only thing that is better and that all the others do not have, is that they let you use CSS to customize the template.

This plugin is very simple, without pro payment options, simply free like Cat Locker. Unlike Cat locker, this one has usage statistics, it allows us to use 3 social networks: twitter, facebook and google +. It only allows us to use pay with diffusion, it does not have another option, like likes, that follow us, etc.
In very very simple to use. The worst thing is that we need the IDs of our accounts in social networks to use it, so we need to have accounts in social networks, which is not requested by many other plugins, but that should not be an impediment anyway since almost We all have accounts in social networks.

This plugin is ultra simple too, without a paid version, it’s totally free. It allows us to create locker quickly, allowing us to customize them, like other else, by putting description and titles.
Unlike other free plugins this does not have a template but allows us to customize the one that brings with enough options, such as color, transitions of buttons, without a pop jump, etc.
